Please plan your journey...

Over the event weekend we have been advised by Hampshire Highways that  the M27 motorway will be closed between junction 9 to 11 from Friday 9pm till Monday 6am.
The diversion will be via the A27, which is part way towards Lee on the Solent, this means that traffic may be busier than normal around this area.  Please build some extra time to your journey as it will be better to arrive earlier than late!  We look forward to seeing you.

This 1940’s themed event is being held in Lee on the Solent, Hampshire, a village by the sea overlooking the Solent thus giving the event a coastal backdrop. The event will be held in various areas including the High Street, Recreation Ground, Seafront and Church across the weekend.

Originally called LEE VE75, which was to be held to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of VE Day on May 8th 2020., but like many others had to be cancelled because of COVID-19.

The organisers vision is to establish the Lee Victory Festival as a bi-annual event.

With it's planning and secured sponsorship the event has been renamed to 'Lee Victory Festival' (LVF) so enabling future events to take place. The event is now going to be delivered over the weekend of the 24th, 25th and 26th September using several areas around the outdoor venue of Lee on the Solent.

We have the presence of Rear Admiral Iain Henderson CB CBE DL, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Hampshire on the Saturday who will take the salute from HMS Sultan and HMS Collingwood in the main parade and on Sunday for the Church service we have The Lord-Lieutenant being represented by Major General James Balfour CBE DL.

Have a listen of the HM Lord Lieutenant of Hampshire, Nigel Atkinson VJ Day speech which was purposely written for LVF and delivered on the 15th August 2020.

To help with the awareness of the event and to remember those fallen heroes we are promoting the musical track called 'Reverie' composed by Robby Toner (https://www.facebook.com/pg/robbytonermusic) who's given LVF the permission to use the track as its theme tune for the event. We are very honoured to be able to use this such amazing and relevant song,

The event organisers are looking to attract re-enacting WWII groups who deliver living history and vintage stalls and traders all to come and be part of this inaugural event, which is aiming to become synonymous for both VE & VJ Day remembrance and celebrations.

If you would like to help us with the event, either through taking up a paid stall; providing entertainment or volunteering on the day; please contact us. We need you!  Why not come a join our ever growing Facebook Group!  Click here to join
